What a fun day! Two notes: some plants will bloom almost all year in the central Bay Area (SF, Oakland, Berkeley). I used to have to cut down the penstemon to enforce dormancy. And until I moved to Sacramento I didn't know that Spring blooms didn't last until mid-July. (It may partly be the odd year, though. My impatiens are still blooming here.)
Second the SUV has made it to San Francisco. When I lived in Oakland, a sighting of a SUV was rare, as parking is at a premium and most people don't have garages. But I guess as the population has gotten richer, they've bought into the SUV in spite of these problems.
Haven't seen a post from you for a long time...at least too long for this gardener who lives in a less temperate climate than you. Your photos are my vicarious visual feast during our flowerless days (weeks, months). Your commentary is a much appreciated delight. (Good job with the heated cat abode!)
I like the clock and that iron spring looking thing. I can't imagine how strong that man/woman was that did it;) I'm a Republican and I'm mad at Bush.
