More April blooms

Chilean Rock Purslane (Calandrinia grandiflora)- just keeps performing better and better each year, in the ground and in pots. Love it, love it, love it, and soooooo easy to propagate.

Byzantine glads (Gladiolus byzantinus)

Chinese Ground Orchids (Bletilla striata) just beginning to open

Geum

Not pictured but blooming now... and totallly worth mentioning: Queen's tears (Billbergia nutans)!

  3. Great pics Angela - My calandrinia is just starting, too. It's in a horribly rocky, hard, low water, hot spot but is plugging along. I've put some cuttings about the garden this year - we'll see what happens! My Billbergia has never bloomed: How much sun does yours get?

  4. Cloverann, my Billbergia doesn't get any direct sun. I would say it's in bright shade. I should add that I have two crowded clumps-- in pots-- and that the younger of the two pots took two to three years to start blooming well. I have grown Queen's Tears in the ground as well, in a morning sun situation under a tree.

  5. I had the same pink Chilean Rock Purslane in my garden last year, it's very beautiful. Too bad the seeds are not growing back this spring.
