Amaryllis in a rice hull pot

What a great holiday gift idea from Uncommon Goods! They paired a biodegradable rice hull pot with a beautiful amaryllis bulb. You can also order it with Paperwhites or herb seeds.

Sacramentans, you can make this yourself by going to Emigh Hardware.

  1. I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one without an amaryllis...! If you are interested I've tagged you with the Eight Things I'm Happy About meme that came to me from Garden Wise Guy.

  2. I gave one as a gift last year and could hardly stand to part with it. Then I had to hear about how nicely it grew and how beautiful the blooms were... ;-)

I may head over to Emigh and hook myself up before they're all gone.

Thanks for meme-ing me! I don't know what that means exactly, but will check it out.

You're welcome to some of my tree dahlia cuttings, Leslie. I'll be cutting it back when the blooms fade and the sections are a great way to start new plants. I need an excuse to go to Davis soon anyway. Haven't been to the arboretum in ages. Lemme know if you're interested.
