Someday, I'm gonna git me one of them gas grills...

  1. You know, we have had the gas grills but my hubby went back to a basic Webber round grill and says he will never go back to gas.

Don't do it. Or at least don't get rid of your charcoal grill. My husband won't let me get a charcoal grill since we already have a gas one that works fine. It's convenient but my heart aches for charcoal...

We've been cooking on a gas grill for 15 years (we inherited it). It is incredibly convenient, and we BBQ all year long. I'm glad we have it. But when I have wood fired BBQ , oohhh, I can taste the difference. So, I agree - don't get rid of your charcoal grill. But try wood ;-)

  4. OK, so it sounds like I need to keep the charcoal grill (though I lack the patience to start the coals), add a gas grill for convenience, and get a wood-fired BBQ for flavor. Don't think I haven't seen those fabulous wood-fired outdoor pizza ovens. But we're talking baby steps here. I will start with the gas grill. Besides, they're supposedly more environmentally friendly than charcoal.

  5. Yeah, you can't use a charcoal grill on "spare the air" days. We inherited a charcoal grill and luckily don't have room for two grills.
